Workers’ Party’s semi-trailer truck gets shut down, but no further action to be taken

Other political parties can have all the blaring campaign lorries they want, but none of them will ever come close to the majestic magnitude of Workers’ Party (WP)’s very own semi-trailer — endearingly dubbed the WP Optimus Prime truck.

The colossal truck has been spotted over the past week, sporting brightly lit WP logo and slogan — but it’s understood that the truck was neither initiated nor commissioned by the party itself. A generous WP supporter had actually done it up on his own, which really speaks volumes of how much he loves the party.

The WP Optimus Prime truck however is no more. The folks behind the magnificent mobile display have been advised that such actions are in breach of the Parliamentary Elections (Election Advertising) Regulations; not to mention the safety concerns involved.

The Elections Department have assured that no further action will be taken over the trailer truck as those responsible will be complying with the advisory. ‘Twas a good run though, Optimus Prime.
