A year on since the death of Singapore’s first prime minister, a 64-page workbook chronicling his life and life’s work is being issued to each and every secondary school student in the country.
It’s called LKY: Follow the Rainbow, Go Ride It — yes, it’s his quote, but what a horrible title for a book — and it’s supposed to be a sort of bible on everything Lee Kuan Yew. Quotes, photographs, interviews, newspaper articles — everything’s compiled into one convenient tome for students to hold near and dear to their heart.
Channel NewsAsia reports that the book is meant to be an additional resource to be used by teachers, who will take students through activities that should help them commemorate and reflect on his empyrean values.
Specifically targeting teenagers aged 13 to 17 years of age, 200,000 copies of the book will be distributed in secondary schools island-wide.
