An accident along Dorset Road in Farrer Park earlier this afternoon left a 56-year-old woman dead after she was hit by a Trans-Cab taxi.
The woman succumbed to her injuries at Tan Tock Seng Hospital after being conveyed by ambulance sometime after 12:50pm, according to the police.
An eyewitness noted to Channel NewsAsia that the lady had been crossing the road near a zebra crossing when the taxi knocked her down. Paramedics immediately started resuscitation efforts as soon as they arrived at the scene.
The Dorset Road stretch where the accident transpired was closed off temporarily this afternoon as investigations were conducted.
