A 67-year-old woman was taken to hospital after she sustained injuries from crashing her car into a drain at Bukit Timah yesterday morning. The police said they were notified of the accident along Bukit Timah Road towards Upper Bukit Timah Road around 11am.

Photos soon surfaced on social media, showing a white car plunged headfirst into a drain by the road.

It is believed that the driver had lost control of her vehicle, resulting in the car mounting the kerb and ramming through a railing into the drain, Channel NewsAsia reported.

She was taken conscious to National University Hospital by the Singapore Civil Defence Force — which was also alerted to the incident at 11am.

Investigations are ongoing.
