Win a chance to sleep with the sharks in Airbnb’s first underwater room

Spending a night at the museum is no longer cool. What’s in right now is a night at the shark aquarium. Specifically, Aquarium de Paris in France. Three complimentary one-night Airbnb stays are up for grabs from Apr 11 to 13, and you can enter your name into the running by penning the most original reason for why you deserve to win by Apr 3.

The best part? They’ll fly you in from wherever you are in the world.

This one-of-a-kind sleepover encases you in a 360-degree transparent wall, submerged in a ten-meter deep aquarium swimming with 35 sharks. How awesome is that? Up close and personal will have new meaning when you find yourself staring into the eyes of the sharp-toothed creatures (unless you’re prone to bouts of sleepwalking — that might be a little dangerous, considering your surroundings).

If you’re one of the three lucky winners, you and your guest will be greeted upon arrival by your host, Fred Buyle. He’s a shark enthusiast and underwater photographer who broke the world record for freediving, and he’ll be your aquarium guide, to show you a behind-the-scenes look into the world of sharks.

Once you’re inside the bedroom, Fred will take a dive into the tank and give you a chance to say hi to some of your neighbours for the night. Then you’ll dine on a cosy meal while gazing at your fishy friends — it all sounds rather peaceful and serene, just what we need to escape the bustle of our city.

Take note that both guests have to be over 18 years old and in good physical shape (to climb up and down the ladder into the bedroom). Your combined weight cannot exceed 190kg. Submissions should fall between 50-550 characters in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese, or between 50-300 characters in Chinese, Japanese or Korean.

Oh, and don’t insist on a Jaws marathon before you stay the night, or you’ll be having nightmares instead of livin’ the dream.
