Wildlife Park animals are getting ang paos too this Chinese New Year

Red packets aren’t only reserved for us humans this Chinese New Year — the wild residents of Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, River Safari and Singapore Zoo are also getting into the spirit of the season with festive treats.

Considering it’s the Year of the Monkey, the Singapore Zoo’s tree-climbing critters including the cotton-top tamarin, Javan langur and golden-headed lion tamarin will be getting delights such as oranges, nuts and seeds.

Other species are also getting involved — parrots will be greeting everyone “Gong Xi Fa Cai”; pandas will be receiving giant ang pows; Malayan tigers will be uncovering hidden treats. Of course, a Lunar New Year celebration won’t be complete without acrobatic lion dance performances (no real lions involved) which will take place across all four parks.
