According to ECA, Singapore is now behind Hong Kong for the first time since 2010. Tokyo tops the list, followed closely by Beijing.

As part of their research, ECA also drew up a table charting the prices of items commonly purchased by expats in the various cities. Based on the info, Singapore sells the most expensive beer regionally.

A bottle of beer at a Singapore bar is estimated to cost a whopping USD13.47. Shanghai, the fourth most expensive city in Asia to live in, sells their beer more than USD3 cheaper, while Hong Kong’s beer costs a mere USD9.18.

What gives? All this interest in craft beer, is our bet.
