A 20-year-old Nanyang Polytechnic nursing student was stabbed on the morning of Dec. 20 by a 30-year-old cleaner.
The assailant, whom the victim Pavithra Gunashekaran had met during her attachment at a hospital, was said to have proposed to her the night before the incident.
According to a report by Channel NewsAsia, Pavithra’s mother had heard her daughter screaming and had rushed downstairs with her husband.
