The newest mall in Jurong East will throw open its doors just in time for the Christmas season and boy, is it in the spirit of giving.
There’ll be shops, sure, but there’ll also be the biggest outdoor playground of its kind within the mall’s vicinity.
Its name — Westgate Wonderland — gives you an idea of what it’s going to be like, but here’s more info: there’ll be oversized plants, flowers and insects (though these are probably all fake, we’re not sure), as well as interactive elements — for when you want to actually spray stuff from a watering can, not selfie with it.
Not crazy useful if you’re already sick to death of your kids’ plushies at home, but your sleeping shopping partner (read: husband) and children can park here while you do your last-minute shopping.
There’ll be dry and wet areas — how much do you want to bet they’re going to have one of those fountain fixtures that give parents an excuse to strip their kids down? — plus even a supervised play pen called Kids Club that arranges obstacle courses, treasure hunts and even educational programs (like they’ll tell stories about aqua conservation and stuff).
Westgate general manager said in a statement, “By opening Westgate Wonderland to the public for free, we hope to make world-class play facilities more accessible to our shoppers.”
Yup, and keep parents sane, too.
