This weekend’s Pokemon Run features a Pikachu parade, a Pokemon garden and a cafe

You’re gonna wanna be the very best at Southeast Asia’s first ever Pokémon-themed fun run. Held at Marina Bay this weekend, the event features all things Pokémon, so make sure you bring along your selfie sticks and best Pokémon threads for all the photo ops.

Open to participants aged four and above, the 5km run helps you embark on a training journey to become a Pokémon Master. Kicking off at 9am, the Kids Wave for junior trainers (aged four to 12) will see young ones running alongside Junichi Masuda — the founding member of Game Freak is best known as the game director and composer for the Pokémon games.

Since the run isn’t a timed one, you can take your time with selfies at Pokémon photo points along the way. At the finishing line, a Pikachu parade will greet runners, and you can head over to the Pokémon garden afterwards to play peek-a-boo among life-sized cut-outs of more than 10 Pokémon. Also check out the Trainer’s Village to play games, get on the bouncy castle or join in bead-making sessions. A pop-up Pokémon cafe in the arena will offer Japanese bites for the famished ones.

Pokémon Run Singapore 2017 is on Jan 14, 8am at The Promontory @ Marina Bay. $70; $65 if you sign up with a buddy.
