The time has come for passengers who despise chitchats thanks to a nifty new feature now available on ride-hailing platform Grab’s app.

Grab announced on Monday that passengers can now toggle the “Quiet Ride” function on the app to enjoy some peace and quiet during rides.

“You asked for a bit of quiet, we heard you loud and clear. Quiet Ride is now available in Singapore! 😌” the platform wrote.

Its advert pays homage to the 2018s thriller A Quiet Place, in which a family has to stay quiet to avoid getting killed by noise-sensitive monsters.

The new function is available under the “…” button. Once toggled and booked, the driver will be notified of the request. But, as of now, it is not available for GrabShare and GrabHitch rides.

Of course, it won’t be 100% silent as drivers may have to ask passengers about their trip details, answer phone calls or listen to the radio or music being played in the car. Not to mention, the harmless friendly greetings and goodbyes.

But what if you change your mind and no longer want the ride to be quiet? Then let the driver know and start conversing!
