We’ve played a fair share of roles in mocking the so-called industry of “social media influencers” and their basic AF content (here, here, and here), so we’ll definitely give a shout out to anyone else who’s game to do so as well. Even though influencers are pretty much low hanging fruit when it comes to comedy gold.
Draw your attention to Farah Khaizuran — sister of local comedian Fakkah Fuzz and rising rapper Fariz Jabba — who’s making a name for herself as an entertainer as well. Going by the stage name of Farah Lola, her specialty appears to be making fun of the legion of local influencers and the type of lifestyles they portray on social media. Here’s her taking on the persona of vapid influencer content creator Chanel Chan, who can even write deep poems (probably based on that one local social media personality who’s now a published poet, if you can even call her tripe poetry).

Even before Chanel Chan, Farah parodied the various classes of female Malay “influencers”.

From the level of virality Farah’s posts are starting to get, it won’t be long that she’ll soon be part of the very industry that she’s been mocking. We’ve seen this before in the form of Preetipls, the comedian who made a name for herself by mocking influencer tropes — but is now a sort of prominent influencer herself who gets paid for pimping things out as sponsored content.
