This heartbreaking scene of a parrot scrounging through a filthy pool of cigarette water out of desperation for food and water was captured yesterday along Jurong East Street 31.
The clip has since been submitted to the All Singapore Stuff Facebook page in an attempt to garner a wider spread of views, just so the bird’s owner could come collect it. Not a native bird to Singapore, the African grey parrot was said to have rings on both its legs, meaning it belongs to someone.
The fact that one of the smartest species of parrots in the world has to rely on toxic cigarette juice for sustenance makes it all the sadder. Fortunately, the individual who took the video mentioned that he bought a packet of sunflower seeds later on to feed the lost bird. Attempts to locate the parrot’s owner are currently underway.

Others reached for the lowest hanging fruit and made some repartee about the bird’s unhealthy habits.
