The semi-humble residence (well, it is a jumbo flat) of Singapore’s newest head of state is located right in the middle of the heartlands, and with that comes the near-absent sense of privacy for Madam President.
Take this clip for instance, which purportedly shows how President Halimah Yacob gets welcomed by dozens of adoring fans at the foot of her block. Fortunately, she has an official security team to help fend them off politely as she makes her way to the transport that’ll take her to her office at the Istana.
Only time will tell how long this’ll go on, and how long it’ll take till her patience runs out when she has to smile and wave for the crowd — every. Single. Morning.
She wasn’t the only one who got the rockstar treatment recently.
