Love ’em or hate ’em, emojis are now a part of our lives. (Even though we all have that one friend who uses a particular emoji to death.) But sometimes, how you interpret these little symbols can be completely different from another person’s understanding of them. Especially when you’re a parent and that someone else is your kid.
So when Fullscreen — a campaign by NTU students to “empower Smart Digital Parents” — got a bunch of parents and their young ones together to explain the meanings behind popular emojis, hilarity ensued.
Fist bump emojis turned into angry punches, “cool” poop emojis were used to point out someone talking nonsense, and mind blown emojis became a representation of making someone so mad that their head “boils”.
