The term “hubris” is often used in Greek mythology, and it’s defined as a state of excessive pride to the point of dangerous overconfidence.
Hubris can also be used in modern context as well. For instance, this hubristic driver of an orange Nissan GTR sports car quickly learned the error of his/her ways last Tuesday (Aug 8) after he/she sped off at a traffic junction and lost control before colliding into a construction enclosure. It was a costly lesson, for sure, especially since the car ended up with significant damage to its hood and dented the temporary barricade as well. In other words, hubris.
Not much else is known about the exact location of the accident and the condition of the driver, but it seems like he/she turned out (relatively) okay, judging from the impact.
