If you’d rather watch than read the news, check out this quick three-minute video on one of the most popular phone scams making the rounds in Singapore. Starring local comedian/actor Hossan Leong, the clip by the Singapore Police Force has attracted over 90,000 views and more than 3,000 shares in just a day.
Seems like Leong is no stranger to scam calls, and he’s kindly stepped forward to create the public service announcement in an entertaining manner to generate more awareness. In the video, he plays both culprit and victim, showing how easy it is to switch personalities as the scammer.
Since March this year, the police have received over 50 reports of the China officials impersonation scam, with $4 million lost in total.
