This is the story of Joy, a woman who has alopecia — an autoimmune skin disease that causes hair loss on parts of the body. Her condition, which isn’t something that’s often talked about in Singapore, caused her to lose the hair on her scalp and face, and she turned to painful treatments until her husband told her to stop.
Despite being teased by her classmates in school when she was growing up, she eventually accepted her condition. One thing she had a hard time with however was her eyebrows, which occasionally ended up wrongly drawn or accidentally erased.
That is, until Edwin came along. The tattoo artist, who offers free eyebrow tattoo services for people with alopecia, put her worries to rest by shaping new eyebrows to suit her face.
