Police investigations are ongoing for a horrendous accident that transpired on the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) last weekend, where a white Honda Accord ploughed straight into a motorcyclist.
In the early hours of Sunday (Jan 30), the car was caught on tape hitting the motorcyclist along PIE near Eng Neo Exit 22 — and didn’t seem to slow down at all even after the crash. The collision was bad enough to dislodge the car’s front bumper, which held its license plate number.
Eyewitness accounts also mentioned that the motorcycle burst into flames from the collision, but the blaze was extinguished by members of the public before Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) rescuers arrived. The 46-year-old motorcyclist was taken conscious to National University Hospital with head injuries, and he’s reportedly in stable condition.
It’s considered to be an alleged hit-and-run incident as well — the Honda driver was said to have accelerated away from the scene. Considering that the driver’s license plate was left behind at the scene, it would only be a matter of time before the law eventually catches up to him/her.
