If you haven’t listened to the youth-driven remake of National Day tune “We Are Singapore” led by Charlie Lim and fellow local musicians, you should, because it’s actually good.
Granted, it’s a refurbished version of an everlasting tune from ’87, but the modern, electro-R&B update to the classic is very welcome — and one that feeds into our current era of nostalgia. Here it is again.
But if you’d prefer something on the other end of the enjoyable spectrum for some reason, you’re in for a (painful) treat. Local illustrator and humorist See Bang contributed to Singapore’s 53rd-anniversary celebrations in the way he knows best — absurd hilarity.
