This poor cyclist learned the error of his ways in a most painful manner when he got knocked down by a car, which had the right of way.

Dashcam footage uploaded on the Love Cycling SG Facebook group showed the moment a car unwittingly crashed into a man who’d been cycling across the road — when the traffic lights were green for the driver.

You can even see clearly how the traffic light was not in the cyclist’s favor. The driver did slow down when closing in at the junction, and the traffic light had already switched to green before the car even reached the stop line. The only indicator was that the silver MPV had stopped to allow the unaware cyclist to cross. Alas, it was too late for the cyclist who didn’t look to his left to see another car coming — and got knocked down for his oversight.

We can only hope that the cyclist is doing okay right now, and that he internalized that painful lesson.
