Since the age of three, SMRT Train Service Ambassador Isaac Nathaniel D’Souza has been a huge fan of trains. He started collecting miniature versions when he turned four, and it’s blossomed into a hobby of his ever since. The 19-year-old job-hopped around in the food and beverage and hotel industries before joining SMRT, and it’s plain to see that he loves being surrounded by trains all day long.
The concept for ‘SMRT Land’ came about after he realized his room was in need of renovation, and it took him two years to design and map out the color scheme, as well as the electrical and lighting elements — all inspired by Jurong East MRT station, where he works.
It’s pretty impressive, how he’s transformed his room into a tiny train city filled with electric train models, train tracks, multiple platforms and familiar landmarks. Take a look below.
