If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. As in the case of the Singapore Airlines (SIA) scam, where scammers have been pretending to be employees of the airline company to get personal information from the public.
Apparently, there’ve been contests supposedly hosted by SIA, where the scammers behind them would email or call victims with the ‘good news’ that they’ve won free flights. Sounds great and all, but then they’d also ask for personal data, which — we should all know by now — should never be revealed to unverified sources.
Also, beware of phishing social media posts and websites that can appear similar to the official SIA ones.
