HDB apartments get a bad rep for getting smaller and smaller in size, while its prices are only going up. These days, a five-room flat is only about 110 square metres, and thats including the living room, dining area, kitchen, a master bedroom, two extra bedrooms and two bathrooms.
You’d be surprised to know then that some folks are actually living large in their effin’ humungous HDB abodes — jumbo flats. Formed when two adjoining flats combined into one monstrous residence, those who were able to nab one of these jumbo flats back in the early ’90s should count themselves lucky. The New Paper recently took a video tour of one of these rare flats in Woodlands— watch it and weep as you gaze at your compact little apartments.
