Video: Singaporean couple gets shamed in Malaysia for parking in a handicap spot

Tired of seeing folks abuse parking lots reserved for handicapped drivers, Malaysian auditor Naren Narasiah took things into his own hands and confronted one such inconsiderate couple.

We’re embarrassed to know that the two folks he had to lecture were fellow Singaporeans.

In a video uploaded on the Champion4disability Facebook group, a clearly frustrated Naren is seen berating the apologetic couple, who he claims to have parked at the handicapped parking spot for 45 minutes.

According to him, he blocked their car from reversing, but got his truck knocked into when they did — and that’s when his verbal wrath poured forth. The Singaporean couple could only blurt out feeble excuses in the face of Naren’s booming voice of disapproval.

“I thought Singaporeans are very courteous… follow the rules,” he said. “As soon as you pass this way, you come here and break the rules is it?” Savage.

In the remainder of the confrontation, Naren takes his fight for the rights of disabled folks to another level. He tells the couple that instead of compensating him with RM1,000 for the damages to his car, they should donate the money to a handicapped foundation — and send him the receipt as proof.

Though there’s no word of the couple carrying out their promise, Naren has taken the virality of his video to good use.

“I don’t want anyone to lose focus that the video I posted is not for entertainment. It is to encourage others to stand up for the disabled. Please practice this in your daily lives. If you live near a mall and you see this happening, take a pic, post it, go to the security or the management office and lodge a complaint. Do not wait for others to do it! You do it and let your children and others see you leading by example. ”

Preach on brother.
