Video: This remote control model of a SIA A380 aircraft looks so real

We think remote control anything is cool, but this miniature of Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) Airbus 380 (watch video below) kicks everything we’ve seen out of the ballpark.

The remote control model has been scaled down 14 times smaller than the actual aircraft, weighing 70kg and with a wingspan of 6 metres. It’s powered by four jet turbines, each costing a whopping SGD3,600.

It is uncertain who actually built the plane, but a hobbyist who goes by the name of RC Helijet seems to be associated with it.

On his website, he thanks fans from Singapore for showing their support.

The Airbus A380 is a superjumbo that became a commercial plane in 2007. SIA has seen a total of 115 such models in operation as of November 2013.
