The Coconuts TV team sailed forth from the Singaporean harbour on Oct 2 and literally ventured into the heart of hazy darkness as they traversed deep into Indonesia’s Riau islands.
Watch the first part of our documentary on the 2015 Southeast Asian Haze Crisis below, as we went on the 280km-long journey from the shores of Singapore to the city of Pekanbaru. Already, thousands have fled the capital due to extremely hazardous levels, where smog from fires in their own province have swirled together with haze blowing in from fires in Jambi and South Sumatra.
