Video: Over 1,800 SPF and SCDF officers respond to simulated island-wide attacks

This simulated attack upon Singapore couldn’t have been more relevant these days, especially when an Islamic State-sanctioned attack just transpired in neighbouring Indonesia.

Over the last two days, the Singapore Police Force, the Singapore Civil Defence Force and other Home Team agencies conducted an island-wide exercise at various locations, involving over 1,800 personnel. The exercise was carried out to test the readiness of the Home Team forces in responding to multiple armed attacks — and by the looks of the captured highlights, they did just fine.

SPF, with the support from other Home Team agencies, conducted an island-wide exercise at various locations from 18 to 19 January 2016. This exercise tested the readiness of our forces in responding to multiple island-wide armed attacks. More than 1800 SPF and SCDF officers were involved in this exercise. As part of our preparations to deal with national security incidents, the SPF will continue to conduct such similar exercises.Members of public can play an important role by staying vigilant and reporting suspicious activities or persons by calling ‘999’ or the Police hotline at 1800–255 0000. Together, we can make Singapore a safe and secure home for everyone. Check out the highlights of the exercise here!
