Video: Outspoken East Coast GRC resident lashes out at PAP members who came to his door

Here’s a man unafraid to speak his mind, and right in the face of politicians hungry for his vote. Upset about the recent disparaging comments that People’s Action Party (PAP) candidate Lim Swee Say made about China and Malaysia, this landed property owner spilled out his displeasure to other PAP candidates knocking on his front gate.

Here’s some context before you watch the video — Lim had tried to invoke patriotic vigour during an election rally last week, stating that he felt most fortunate and happy that his father migrated here from China.  “If my father had not taken that boat to Singapore, today I might be a Chinese citizen. Heng ah!” he said. ‘Heng’ means ‘lucky’ in the Hokkien dialect.

Lim also enthused the same “Heng ah!” when he referred to the time Singapore and Malaysia separated, saying he felt lucky he’s not a Malaysian.

Of course, both Malaysians and Chinese nationals have slammed him for belittling their country, along with many other embarrassed Singaporeans. This one ouspoken East Coast GRC resident is no different of course — witness the verbal wrath he spilled on the PAP members who came to his door.
