Singapore Turf Club has stepped in to explain the videos (watch one below) of a man being run over by horses at the start of a race in Kranji’s Singapore Racecourse.
The videos of Race 10 held on Jan. 5 show a man dressed in what looked like a pink polo T-shirt trapped in the path of horses at the sound of the horn and stumbling over.
Singapore Turf Club identifies the man as member of staff for trainer Leslie Khoo, who had been attending to the horse Sky Empathy in his barrier gate.
The worker had crawled out from underneath the gate, but had not done so strategically — at that moment, the race began and he fell over.
He later picked himself up and walked away unhurt.
Turf Club says a further inquiry into the circumstances that led to the incident will be held.
