Video: Impromptu jazz session breaks out at public piano under Esplanade bridge

The Play It Forward Singapore movement has a quirky, high-spirited goal — find neglected pianos and put them in public spaces so that everyday Singaporeans can have access to it. 

Launched in September last year by “three piano nerds”, the Play It Forward series has gone into its second edition that’s currently ongoing till the end of next month. Right now, six pianos are scattered across Marina Bay — all of which are completely available for anyone to jump in and play.

It’s a great way to bring random strangers together too of course, and that’s what exactly transpired in a charming evening under the Esplanade Bridge. Playing out exactly like what the movement intended to do, folks gathered in an impromptu jazz session with elderly Madam Lily on keys, and others joining in with singing, dancing and clapping.
