Clad in an outfit of prosperous colours, she switches on her loudspeakers and starts playing a jolly old Chinese New Year tune. Unable to withstand her deep-seated simmering love for the season in silence, she bursts into song and dance across the cabin, shouting her love for money and lady fortune. It is also appropriate that she is travelling on the red line towards Jurong East.
As she announces that she’ll be performing another matinee, an old man sitting in the cabin growls her to sit down and ‘stop disturbing the peace’.
His calls went ignored, and it seems that nothing will ever dampen the sunny mood of this sprightly lady. “New Year haven’t over okay!”, she asserts as she gets ready to launch into another recital. Shine on, Huat Ah Lady, shine on.
