A man riding a motorcycle garnered a whole lot of attention and praise on social media with a simple act of compassion. Noticing an ambulance on the Pan Island Expressway rushing to the hospital, he didn’t just move out of the way — he signaled to other drivers to clear the road.
It’s not every day you see such a show of kindness.
Last Saturday afternoon, Facebook user Maria N Clyde Alexander uploaded the video clip taken from inside the ambulance, and it’s since gotten more than 16,000 shares.

The motorcyclist turned out to be 20-year-old Mohamad Rafiq Azhar, a logistics and supply management student at Republic Polytechnic, according to The Straits Times.
On his way home to Bedok North from Pasir Ris, he spotted the ambulance along Upper Changi Road East, and took the initiative to clear about 15km on the PIE until the Balestier Road exit. Even though that resulted in a detour for him, he was happy to do it. He also admitted to doing the same for another ambulance a few months ago.
Looks like we can all learn a thing or two from Rafiq.
