Video: Elderly woman knocked down by bus while crossing

A video shot on Jan. 20 of a bus knocking down an elderly woman near Serangoon Junior College has been going viral.

In it (watch below), the woman is knocked off her feet as the bus prepares to move off, not waiting for her to finish crossing the road.

She later picked herself up, seemingly unhurt.

According to The Straits Times, SBS Transit is taking strict disciplinary action against the bus captain involved.

Said SBS’ senior vice president of corporate communications Tammy Tan on Jan. 28, “Our bus captain committed a series of mistakes — none of which we condone. He did not adhere to strict traffic safety rules and as a result, hit an old lady. He also did not take down the old lady’s particulars after she declined medical assistance. As a result, we have been unable to contact her to check on her well being.”

“His poor errors of judgement will not be tolerated,” she added.
