Video: An animated short of Lee Kuan Yew’s life, voiced by the man himself

A year after the passing of founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, Singaporeans young and old are commemorating the man in their own ways. Everyone’s talking about #RememberingLKY, whether it’s through gatherings and events or posters and art installations.

One of the tributes comes in the form of a video by Big 3 Media titled ‘LKY: Did I Fail?’, which went viral in less than a day. Less than two minutes long, the animated clip uses some of LKY’s most famous words in a voiceover, charting a quick summary of his impact on Singapore and the legacy he left behind.

Judging by the overwhelmingly positive reactions, most people are appreciative of the video and what it stands for.

We’ll just leave you with a quote by LKY to dwell on for the rest of the day: “No leader can be a softie and hope to survive. I’m not interested in being loved. What’s the profit in it?”
