Very angry young man blows up at Starhub staff in Tiong Bahru Plaza; elder gent comes to her defence

By Jove, why do the unhinged ones keep getting younger?

A video was submitted and posted on the Facebook page of All Singapore Stuff showcasing an ugly situation in Tiong Bahru Plaza’s Starhub outlet.

Allegedly, the seemingly deranged man — of tertiary school age, we guess — had been verbally and physically abusing a staff member when a hero stepped up in the form of another customer, whose attempt to defuse the situation cumulated with the man yelling, cursing and even spitting in his face (or to the side, at least.).

Context of the disagreement is unclear, but it’s plain as day that the instigator was excessively pissed.

In spite of the aggro abuse, however, the caucasian man — who later identified himself as Justin A. Farren — managed to maintain a calm demeanour throughout the altercation. We’re pretty sure he would have no problem protecting himself if it came to fisticuffs too. Just look at the pint size of the angry man.

According to Farren (a creative director at video game publisher Ubisoft), the video doesn’t show the part where the young man was pushing the Starhub staff member around. Adding that he’s made Singapore his home for nearly five years now, Farren says this was his first brush with racism.

Kudos to you, good Sir. And nah, you don’t look fat — just big boned, probably.
