A heartbreaking post on Facebook had gone viral as a local couple called out for experienced fosterers to take care of a wounded kitten they found.

According to Facebook user Sindhu SJ, her husband recently came across an injured critter in a heavy industrial zone, though she did not state exactly where. They believe that the cat was either run over by a vehicle or crushed by heavy machinery. Either way, it was heart-wrenching for Sindhu’s husband to find the kitten dragging itself along on the ground, moaning in pain.

A veterinary check revealed that the kitten’s hind legs and anus were crushed. Now, the cat will forever have the bottom half of its body paralyzed.

Refusing to euthanize the little fighter, the couple are making an urgent plea to anyone who’d have the experience and know-how to take care of the disabled one-month-old cat.

“She needs to be on a long term medication and also a caregiver who can express her urine and poop,” wrote Sindhu. According to the vet, someone inexperienced might cause further health complications for the cat, with one possible scenario being that it would squeeze out its own internal organs.

With the post getting shared around on Facebook, there are already some folks who’d be keen to look after the paralysed kitten. Having its lower body incapacitated doesn’t mean a death sentence, really — there are dozens of cases involving paralysed cats living a happy, active life.
