SIA won’t be the only ones operating non-stop flights to and fro Singapore and the United States. Come June, United Airlines will be introducing daily nonstop flights between its San Francisco International Airport hub and Changi Airport.
It’ll be pretty long-ass flight too on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner which will take about 15 to 16 hours across 13,592 km. It’ll be the longest scheduled flight operated by any US carrier, and the only nonstop service between San Francisco and Singapore.
“This long-awaited service has been made possible by the newest version of our customer-pleasing Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and will offer unique benefits to customers traveling between our West Coast hub at San Francisco and Singapore,” said United Airlines vice president of Atlantic and Pacific sales Marcel Fuchs. “Customers arriving to San Francisco will have dozens of options to connect to other cities across the Americas.”
This new flight comes with a sacrifice though — United Airlines will be terminating their service between Singapore and Tokyo/Narita from Jun 2 onwards. Their service between Singapore and Hong Kong however will still carry on.
