Two women caught for smuggling drugs in underwear

Two women have been arrested by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) for attempting to smuggle about 450g of heroin ad 52g of ‘ice’ worth $57,000 into Singapore on Jan. 15.

Aged 28 and 46, the duo had been stopped at the car arrival zone of Woodlands Checkpoint in a Malaysian-registered taxi with two others on board by officers from the Immigrations & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

They were subsequently referred to CNB for checks during which a female CNB officer found a bundle of heroin hidden in the 28-year-old’s underwear. The 46-year-old was also found to be hiding another bundle of heroin and a smaller bundle of ‘ice’.

Investigations both women are on-going.
