On Dec. 1, police arrested a 30-year-old man who allegedly outrage the modesty of a female commuter on a bus.
The 23-year-old female victim was said to be on board a bus travelling along West Coast Crescent when the suspect sat beside her and started molesting her.
Two 17-year-old students confronted him and alerted the bus captain before the suspect could alight.
The police was notified and the suspect was subsequently arrested.
Clementi Police Division’s commander, deputy assistant commissioner of Police (DAC) Melvin Yong commended the two for their public-spiritedness and thanked them for their efforts. He also said that the arrest is a good example of strong partnership between the community and the police in battling crime together.
