The arm of the law descended upon Sentosa Gateway in an operation conducted last Saturday (Mar 18) at approximately 2am by the Clementi Police Division — supported by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Traffic Police, and Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) — to sweep six entertainment outlets for possible violations of public entertainment licensing conditions. Their efforts bore fruit, as two of those outlets were discovered to have breached their licensing controls.

Channel News Asia reported that this joint operation was conducted following the murder of a 35-year old man at St James Power Station, where four out of the five men arrested were charged with stabbing him to death.

The police also conducted checks on 40 people and two were arrested for hurling foul language at public servants. According to the police, the two men are currently undergoing investigation.

Simultaneously, an operation was conducted along Telok Blangah Road for possible cases of drink-driving — 22 motorists were inspected.
