Two Indian nationals have each received an 18-week jail sentence for refusing to disperse despite police orders during the Dec. 8 Little India riot.
25-year-old Thangaiya Selvakumar and 23-year-old Thiagarajan Sribalamurugan had their charges amended from rioting, which carries a maximum sentence of seven years jail and caning.
For failing to disperse, they could’ve faced a maximum punishment of two years jail and a fine.
Thangaiya and Thiaragan are the fourth and fifth people that have been found guilty in relation to the historic event.
20 other men have their cases pending.
