An SBS Transit truck fitted almost perfectly in a ditch after skidding off the road yesterday.

Two men — the 57-year-old driver and his 29-year-old passenger — were treated for minor injuries at Changi General Hospital following the accident, according to The Straits Times. The truck was traveling Bedok North Avenue 4 towards Changi South Lane when it veered into a big drain, eventually landing flat on its side.

Photos and video of the aftermath of the crash on SG Road Vigilante – SGRV Facebook page showed neon-vested traffic workers atop the almost fully intact truck. A man was pictured lying down in the ditch, presumably being treated for injuries.

The guardrails, however, were not so lucky. Having bent and broken, the familiar green metal bars were no match for the oversized projectile apparently, with ends sticking out in all directions when it was all over.

The cause of the crash has yet to be determined, according to a Channel NewsAsia, but officials and police are both looking into it.

“We are investigating the incident and are thankful no one else was injured as a result,” said senior vice president of corporate communications for SBS Transit Tammy Tan.
