Two commuters actually drew up an alternative bus route map for the December closures of 19 MRT stations

Just a reminder: 17 MRT stations on the East-West Line (EWL) and two on the North-South Line (NSL) will be entirely closed for two Sundays on Dec 10 and 17 so that SMRT can fast-track its re-signaling works and improve the reliability of the two main lines.

Expect service closures from Tiong Bahru to Tuas Link stations on the EWL, as well as Bukit Batok and Bukit Gombak stations on the NSL during those two days. Also, keep in mind that the affected stations will shutter earlier on Fridays and Saturdays and open later on Saturdays and Sundays from Dec 8 till year-end.

Obviously, this doesn’t bode well for commuters who regularly frequent those stations on weekends. But fear not, for two Good Samaritan commuters have taken it upon themselves to painstakingly draw up an alternative bus route map linking the different stations in preparation for the upcoming closures.

Generously done up by Yong Jian Rong and Paul Lee, the map was freely posted on community-driven transport update group TATA SMRT’s Facebook page on Wednesday and updated a couple times since then. Good on ya, lads.

Check it out below and save it — you never know when it’ll come in useful.
