Apparently, #TravelFakie is a trend. At least according to budget airline Jetstar. It’s basically when you fake a holiday selfie to give your social media followers the impression that you’re on vacay when you’re actually just really good at Photoshop or you unearthed a holiday landmark look-alike in your hometown or you got creative with props and backdrops.
Why anyone would do that, we have no idea.
But hey, Jetstar wants to make your fake vacation dreams come true. All you gotta do is come up with the most innovative, convincing and potentially ridiculous shot — when you really think about it, the possibilities are endless — tag Jetstar on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, explain what and where you’re ‘holidaying’ in, and include the hashtags #TravelFakie and #ActuallyInSingapore.
The top two entries from Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia will each win a pair of Jetstar flights to their desired destination (yes, we’re talking about a real holiday). Better start faking it till you make it.
The contest lasts till Sept 30.
