An MRT train left a station without closing one of its cabin doors during the evening rush hour yesterday, and fortunately, no one tumbled out.
Twitter user @Hady_Matynn shared a clip of the incident that took place around 7:30pm yesterday, after departing Ang Mo Kio MRT station. The footage showed commuters (except one headphone-toting lady) looking a tad bit worried that the train was moving off with an open door. An SMRT staff member was at the door, making commands on his walkie-talkie.

According to SMRT, the station manager had been handling a train door fault from inside the train when the train moved off. Investigations revealed that the station manager made an error that allowed the train to move with a door still open.
Fortunately, the train stopped after traveling for about 200 meters and returned to Ang Mo Kio MRT station. Commuters got off the train and the train was withdrawn from service.
Apologizing for the incident, SMRT assured that the station manager has since been suspended.
