It’s the last day of work before the Christmas celebrations, but the weekday blues aren’t going out without a fight. Commuters had to face delayed travel time on the East-West Line this morning from as early as 5.33am — no trains were running between Outram Park and Aljunied due to a fault.

Though train services resumed shortly around 5.43am, the track fault added 10 minutes of extra travel time further down the green line from Tanah Merah to Eunos MRT stations heading towards Joo Koon.

Train services only resumed to normal speeds just before 10am.

All in all, not a good start to the Friday — and folks made that real clear to SMRT.
