It was scrambled eggs galore this morning at Orchard Road, where a stretch of the road in the popular shopping district was eggs-quisitely smeared with broken eggs.

The egg-citing egg-cident in front of Mandarin Gallery saw cartons of broken eggs spilling all over the road, spanning 16 metres across one lane. The Land Transport Authority tweeted that there was an “obstacle” on Orchard Road towards Bras Basah Road at 10:25am, but left out the eggs-act details.

Hard boiled officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were on site to clean up the eggs-travagant mess, while the police scrambled in to help steer traffic away from the runny roads.

So far, nobody has claimed responsibility for the broken eggs, which are believed to have fallen out of a transport vehicle. Whoever the driver was, he/she must have been unaware or perhaps he/she intentionally fled the scene to avoid having an egg on his/her face.
