Singapore’s Traffic Police (TP) officers ought to be very chuffed about this: a brand new BMW 3 Series M Sport for an expressway patrol police car.
We’re not nuts enough about cars to know if its a good model, but we do know that Beemers perform a lot better than the Singapore Police Force’s current fleet of Subaru, Hyundai, Nissan and Volvo cars.
From the looks of it, the new car acquired by TP is a BMW 340i (but don’t take our word for it). Which, according to Automobile Catalog, could go from zero to 100 kilometers an hour in five seconds with a top speed of 268 km/h. That’s some proper acceleration for a car that needs to chase down lawbreakers on the expressway.
News of TP’s newest addition was first uploaded onto Facebook by car dealers Bavarian Marques Pte Ltd — but they’re not the ones behind the distribution. The dealership’s CEO Shawn Kishore informed Coconuts Singapore that he got the images through WhatsApp, adding that a brand new BMW 3 Series M-Sport could go from S$160,000 onwards in the market, depending on its model, specs, and options. So for all we know, it could just be a concept car for the Singapore Police Force.
As sweet as the new police ride is, the Beemer is on a lower tier compared to the likes of Dodge Chargers, Lamborghini Aventadors, and Carabinieris already enjoyed by cops in the United States, Dubai, and Italy respectively.
