Single and ready to mingle? Looking for love — but in all the wrong places? You won’t have to find it in a hopeless place, thanks to this list of hotspots in Singapore brought to you by dating app, happn. The GPS-based app, which uses real-time geolocation to show users potential matches they’ve crosssed paths with in a 250m radius, offers what it calls ‘a second chance at a first encounter’.
And apparently the best place for you to meet someone is the residential area of Bedok and its neighbouring district, Katong. About 10 percent of all crossings take place here, so perhaps East is better than West, after all. (But only if you’re searching for that special someone).
Coming in second with nine percent is Telok Ayer — maybe because people at the hips bars and restaurants in the area spend more time looking at one another than their food — followed by Orchard and Raffles Place.
Also on the list are a bunch of heartland estates, including Punggol and Woodlands at fifth and sixth place, as well as Clementi, Ang Mo Kio and Holland Village in the last three spots. And Changi Airport makes it to seventh place, with users crossing 84,862 times, thanks to the non-stop traffic of people passing through Singapore.
Maybe it’s time to switch up your dating strategy and hit up these areas more often.
